Raw Wastewater Pumps

Raw wastewater enters the plant wet-well via large underground pipes. It is pumped from the wet-well to the head of the plant by any combination of six raw wastewater pumps. Five pumps are driven by 250 horsepower (hp) electric motors. Each pump has a capacity of 11,800 gallons per minute (gpm). One pump is run by a 500 horsepower, twelve cylinder CaterpillarŪ engine using methane gas produced at the plant. The CaterpillarŪ engine can also use natural gas purchased from Wisconsin Public Service as an alternative fuel.
