Main Instrumentation Panel

The plant SCADA (Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition) system is capable of monitoring equipment and processes throughout the entire plant and at the five lift stations located throughout the City of Sheboygan. Older style relay logic control panels have been updated to state of the art Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and HMI (Human Machine Interface) touch panel computers. The PLC's control, monitor and record the operating status of all critical equipment at the wastewater treatment plant. The HMI touch panels provide operators and other staff a user friendly and intuitive method for machine control. Data from the PLC's is collected by a server that totalizes and logs the data, and displays it graphically on a video monitor. The SCADA system allows plant operators to monitor status and make process adjustments from various terminals located throughout the plant, as well as from one central location at the wastewater treatment plant. Lift station status can also be monitored on the screens.
